What was Delinda Weeks Shaw's maiden name? Who were her parents?
Delinda's maiden name was Younger! Her father was Nehemiah Younger! I
don't yet know which of Nehemiah's 1st two wives was Delinda's mother but
I'm excited about this breakthrough.
On Christmas Day, 2010 I received an email from a descendant of Nehemiah
Younger who advised that Delinda was Nehemiah's daughter and that fact
could be proven by his will in Washington County, Pennsylvania. He even
proved me with a copy of the will.
There is no doubt about it. Nehemiah's will names his daughter, Delinda
Weeks, names her husband as James Weeks and even mentions James was
the son of Job Weeks. There is also a document from the probate record
showing that Delinda and James authorized Job to act in their behalf in
collecting her inheritance and it was notarized in Pope County, Illinois.
Nehemiah's family was in Anne Arundel County, Maryland so I now have
Maryland and Pennsylvania research that needs to be done. I've already
found that Nehemiah Younger and Job Weeks were both in Elizabeth, Ohio
County, Virginia in 1810.
I'll leave this "Most Wanted" page up until I can get some of the research
done on this family and update the Family Tree pages here with some
information about the Younger family.
