Lewis H. BENNETT 3693,4188
General Notes: Probably died in Troup County, Georgia. More Information: • 1830 United States Federal Census, Lewis Bennett household, Darlington County, South Carolina: This is the only record for a Lewis Bennett (of any spelling) in South Carolina in 1830. The household consisted of 1 m 20-30 and 1 f 20-30 so it may not be this Lewis Bennett. Lewis's son David, and daughter, Susan, appear to have been born before 1830. The 1840 census for Lewis (that is definitely this Lewis) shows children over 10 years old so it's possible that Lewis and Teresa were living with either his or her parents in 1830 and this is not their census record. 4189 • 1840 United States Federal Census, Lewis H. Bennett household, Troup County, Georgia: Lewis was head of a household consisting of 2 m <5 [Lewis, Roland], 2 m 5-10 [Richard, John], 1 m 10-15 [David], 1 m 30-40 [Lewis], 1 f <5 [Martha], 2 f 5-10 [Eliza, ?], 1 f 10-15 [Susan], 1 f 15-20 [?], 1 f 30-40 [Teresa]. There a 2 females who are unidentified; one between 5-10 and one between 15-20. The yonger one is most likely another daughter but it's possible the older one is someone else who was living with them although it is possible that they had a child over 15. 3694 • 1850 United States Federal Census, L. H. Bennett household, Troup County, Georgia: Lewis, Teresa and nine of their children (John, Eliza, Richard, Martha, Roland, Lewis, William, Jesse and George) were living together. Lewis was listed as a farmer, age 46, born in South Carolina. He owned real estate valued at $2400. 3693 • Religion: According to his headstone, Lewis was a member of the Baptist Church at Antioch in Troup County, Georgia. 4188 • Grave Marker: Lewis H.
