The spelling of her name is in question. She was listed as Louis A. in the 1850 census. She is also listed as Louis in the death record for her daughter, Jalia. One of her granddaughters also shows up in records as Louis A. So even though many researchers list her name as Louisa, it's unclear if that was her name.

Her age is also questionable. It is only based on the 1850 census when she was listed as 48 years old but in comparison to the age range of her mother and siblings, it's likely she was younger than than.

• 1850 United States Federal Census, Wesly Owins [sic] household, Rockcastle County, Kentucky: Louis Ann was living with her husband and children. She was listed as Louis Owins, age 48, born in North Carolina. ⁹¹¹

Louis married Wesley OWENS, son of David OWENS and Winifred MULLINS, in Rockcastle County, Kentucky.¹⁰²⁵ (Wesley OWENS was born on 20 May 1801 in Wilkes County, North Carolina,^175,911 died in April 1876 in Rockcastle County, Kentucky ¹⁰²⁷ and was buried in Rockcastle County, Kentucky ¹⁰²⁸.)
