General Notes: 1860 Census - Rockcastle County, Kentucky: Francis Ramsey (70 b. North Carolina), Harriett (62), Sarah (25), M. J. Bryant (16 - f.), Samuel Bryant (14). Unclear if Sarah is their daughter. Relationship of Bryant children is probably grandchildren as their daughter, Nancy, married a Bryant.
More Information: • 1810 United States Federal Census, Thomas Ramsey household, Garrard County, Kentucky: Frank may have been living with his parents but that is not fully verified. 3 sons were listed but there are 4 sons who could have been one of these 3. 815 • 1850 United States Federal Census, Francis Ramsey household, Rockcastle County, Kentucky: Frank and Harriett were living in the Northern District. Their daughter, Patsy (who appears to be listed as a Ramsey) and Tom Lair (who was either Patsy's husband or soon to be husband) were living with them along with 4 children: William (11), Alexander F. (9), Martha (7) and Samuel (5).There is no surname listed for these children; they are listed after Tom Lair. However, most of them are to old to be 20 year old Tom's children. Martha and Samuel are almost certainly the children of Frank and Harriett's daughter, Nancy Ramsey and William Bryant. They are still living with their grandparents in 1860 and listed as Bryants. It's also possible then that William and Alexander F. were also Nancy and William Bryant's children. • 1870 United States Federal Census, Francis Ramsey household, Rockcastle County, Kentucky: Frank and Harriett were living with their granddaughters, Rhoda and Nannie Lair and his niece, Harriett Ramsey. Frank was listed as as a farmer, age 79, born in North Carolina. [It has not been determined if Frank's parents lived in North Carolina prior to moving to Kentucky. They were definitely in Virginia before the Revolution.] 541
