Their son, Emsley and daughter, Virginia were both living nearby. 2984 • Obituary: Published in the Madisonville Hustler on 18 April 1899 in Madisonville, Hopkins County, Kentucky. 2981 Uncle Jack Goodloe Dead • Newspaper Clipping: Published in 1909, probably in the Madisonville Messenger, Madisonville, Hopkins County, Kentucky: 2985 Rev. W. H. Moore [John's son-in-law] wrote the following about John E. Goodloe in "A Stroll Through Grapevine Cemetery": "Uncle Jack with the disposition of gentleness, full of kindness, all the children of the community loved him. A man of very deep piety, always ready to reprove and admonish in a kind way that made one feel that it was done by a friend for good; everybody was his friend." Jack married Eliza Ann DOBYNS, daughter of Edward DOBYNS and Sarah "Sally" MOTT, on 5 October 1836 in Madisonville, Hopkins County, Kentucky.2978 (Eliza Ann DOBYNS died bet. 1846 and 1848 2986.)
