More Information: • Emigration: August emigrated from Germany to the United States between 1885 and 1887. 24,456 According to 1910 Census, August and his family arrived in the United States in 1887 but according to his mother's obituary, they arrived in 1885. • 1910 United States Federal Census, Fritz Krueger household, Rockcastle County, Kentucky: August was living with her father and step-mother. He was listed as August Krueger, son, age 30, born in Germany, teamster. [August worked for his father's brick making business]. The census record also states that he immigrated to the United States in 1885, was Naturalized and spoke both English and German. 24 • Physical Description: In his WW I draft registration, August was described as short with medium build, blue eyes and light hair. 457 • 1920 United States Federal Census, August Krueger household, Rockcastle County, Kentucky: August & Susie were living on West Main Street in Mount Vernon with their daughters, Henrietta & Marie. August was listed as age 40, born in Germany, immigrated to US in 1887 and was Naturalized. His occupation was listed as manager. [He operated the brick yard for his father.] 435 • Occupation: August worked as a Manager of a brick yard in Mount Vernon, Rockcastle County, Kentucky. 261 He ran a brick yard which was located behind his house (near the intersection of West Main & Williams Streets). The property line ran back to the railroad tracks that are parallel to Hwy 150 and they loaded bricks on train cars for shipment. The business was owned by his father, Fritz Krueger.
